Online workshop on implementation of educational activities about importance of riparian vegetation for children with disabiliites

On 18 November, as part of the Nature Conservation Programme in North Macedonia, the Macedonian Ecological Society (MES) organized an online workshop with teachers from the Vancho Prke primary school in Shtip who educate children with special needs and various degrees of disability. The aim of the workshop was to train the teaching staff how to independently implement educational content about the importance of riparian forests along Bregalnica and their conservation. The educational material includes 17 interactive games and activities specially designed for this vulnerable category of children. In the forthcoming period the children with the teachers’ help will have the opportunity to learn more about River Bregalnica, the wildlife that lives in and by the river, its characteristics and importance, as well as the main functions it performs together with the riparian forests.
