Ecotherapy – Healing Properties of Being Outdoors

The modern way of life is full of stress that affects our physical and mental health. Thus all outdoor activities have been increasingly popular in the last few years. People start to appreciate and get familiar with all benefits that staying in nature offers. Medical professionals are recommending being outdoors as a way to deal with stressful modern day life.

Ecotherapy is the process of treatment through nature. These are various activities that improve mental and physical health. Spending time in nature has numerous health benefits. Hiking, walking, cycling, alpinism and being outdoors in general means increased physical activity, which improves our health overall. By being outdoors, in quiet and clean environment, we reduce stress and all its consequences. The outdoors also improves our mood. Climbing to a mountain top or discovering a new region helps with our confidence.
