The Project is implemented by the Movement for Sustainable Development from Kochani.
The objective of the project is to protect and promote the oriental plane trees (Platanus orientallis) in the village of Morodvis.
Results expected from the implementation of the project:
- A study on revalorization of these natural rarities with an Action Plan for their protection is prepared;
- The oriental plane tress are re-proclaimed by the MOEPP;
- Conservation measures for protecting the oriental plane trees have been implemented;
- These natural rarities are promoted to the wider public.
Activities implemented until now:
- A study on revalorization of these natural rarities with an Action Plan for their protection and their mapping is prepared, which is a precondition for submitting the proposal for re-proclamation;
- The necessary documents for re-proclamation of the natural rarity oriental plane trees (Platanus orientallis) have been submitted to the MOEPP and it is expected the documents to be approved by the Minister. This will initiate the implementation of urgent conservation protection measures in order to protect the oriental plane trees (Platanus orientallis) and to develop the area around them;
The project will ensure conditions for starting the procedure for re-proclamation of the oriental plane trees (Platanus orientallis) in the village of Morodvis as natural rarities, as well as for their appropriate protection and promotion to the broader public.
The Project will contribute for protection of natural rarities in the Republic of Macedonia as well as for promoting natural beauties to the public in general.
