The Project is implemented by the association OHO, and it relates to conserving biodiversity, by educating and applying non-formal education practices. This Project presents a new concept of learning about biodiversity and nature on local level through a series of educational practices and activities. The Project aims at developing an educational trail and a classroom in nature. On this trail educational boards will be placed which will contain information about the features of the species which live on those sites, but also in the region. In parallel to this, an educational campaign is being organized focusing on the need to protect nature and biodiversity as well as to raise the public awareness in the educational institutions in the municipality of Pehchevo.
General objective of the project is to conserve nature in Bregalnica Region.
So far the following activities have been implemented:
- One educational campaign has been organized and implemented in the Primary School. “Vancho Kitanov” and in the kindergarten “7 Septemvri” in Pehchevo on 24.11.2015.
The following participants participated in the campaign in the kindergarten: 50 children, 7 educators, the principal of the kindergarten and some of the other staff.
The following participants participated in the campaign in the primary school: 60 learners, 7 teachers from junior grades and from senior grades and the principal of the school.
- A document has been developed and sent containing directions for implementing the campaign in the kindergarten and in the primary school in Pehchevo.
- Meetings were held in order to familiarize the local government (municipality of Pehchevo) about the project and its activities, as well to present the need of their involvement.
- An educational trail has been developed and marked – a field visit has been organized and implemented during which the location of the trail was established and mapped.
