Welcome to the blog of the Nature Conservation Program in Macedonia. Our main aim is to support nature conservation activities and local development of Bregalnica Region based on sustainable use of natural resources.
Here you can read about the natural values of Bregalnica Region as they are seen by the people involved in the Project, but also as this landscape is being experienced by the locals. You will read about indigenous species of flora and fauna as they are seen by scientists and nature lovers, but you will also learn how the locals are trying to promote and at the same time conserve its natural richness. Further on you will see what are the possibilities for leisure and tourism in the region, how to start a small business based on sustainable use of natural resources and many other things which will answer the questions: Why do we need to conserve nature? Why is Bregalnica River Basin so important and significant? and Why it is important to work together and conserve the biological diversity of this region?
